Bastion Square Hosts Second Annual Celtic Festival

In a celebration of all things Celtic, the second annual Bastion Square Celtic Festival will take place March 10 from noon to 4 pm.  The Festival will open at noon with a proclamation from Victoria’s Town Crier.  The afternoon features a full line-up of entertainment including performances by the O’Brien School of Irish Dancing, The Electric Timber Company, the BC Fiddle Orchestra, and Celtic fiddling soloist Daniel Lapp.

At 2 pm there will be a Gold Coin Scramble.  A section of Bastion Square will become the ‘gold at the end of the rainbow’.  Hundreds of gold coins will be scattered and kids 12 and under are invited to ‘scramble’ for coins.  A few of the coins will be marked with a four-leaf clover, and those coins will earn St. Patrick’s Day-themed prizes.

A variety of cultural tables and displays will be set up around the Square, including Freedom Kilts.  Paul Kilshaw will provide magical entertainment as well as balloon four leaf clovers.
